Unfortunately this isn't rated for drinking water storage but I have done some reading on plastics and the main problem is temperature. If the temperature goes up some plastics leach but at room temperature they work ok. So a would say 6 months storage maybe the use or just replace the water with fresh.The plastic is very sturdy that's for sure. The top screws on tight. The handle helps to lift it when full.

Amazing product! Eventually needed more or a bigger one but it’s still truly amazing just not what I thought I needed size wise for my task in hand

The cap and threads on cap are extremely weak
This water jug is extremely cheap. The cap does not stay on when screwed on properly because the threads on it are thin and short. Eventually the cap on mine cracked entirely so I had to use gorilla tape to fix it. Now the cap fits on even looser than before. I store it upright but even so, this will not last and eventually I will need to replace the jug again. Cheap product. I should have bought the 5 gallon at Wal mart for 12 bucks instead

So far so good...
I just bought this product and am using it for the first time. I'm a 64 yr. old woman and it was easy to fill and pick up afterwards.the cap did not leak and the bottle fit nicely on my ceramic water crock.

Lid doesn't fit very well
The bottle is sturdy and works well, but it is very hard to properly thread the lid on and so it's important to not let a full bottle lie on its side! Not well machined (molded?) in the mouth/lid
