Rubber-Cal "Herringbone Outdoor Scraper Door Mat, 18 by 30-Inch

This is a family favorite for cleaning shoes before entering the house. The size is really great as well!

UPDATE: Several months later, the mat has been through many storms and is still working very well! No rust on it, no problem.I got one for my cabin in the woods. I knew it was good, but I took my time to review it. Today, I flipped it over. There was probably 1/2 gallon of sand underneath. That's 1/2 gallon of sand that stayed outside instead of coming into my house! Can't recommend this mat enough. Just one scrape with either foot will take care of everything. You can do it even when in a hurry, instead of having to stop and stomp off the dirt or rub your feet against a rug 10 times. One swipe against this rug will do it - at least, for the Crocs I wear :)

Works great for getting dirt/mud/sand off our shoes. However, it really slides around and won't stay straight. I'll figure out a work-around, though, because it's worthwhile to not track so much dirt into our house. Note: it would hurt bare feet, and maybe your dog's paws, too (although our dog doesn't seem to mind).

Thick enough to clean shoes, widely-space enough to dry out so it doesn't rot too fast, and has an attractive pattern. Large enough, but a bit larger would be even better.

I have a side porch step that ends up acting almost like our front door. It gets a lot of traffic, so we need a mat there. But it also doesn't have any sort of cover from rain or snow. Every rubber-backed mat we used would fall apart after only a couple weeks, the rubber splitting because of heat or cold.This mat is perfect for the entrance, though. It doesn't have any rubber, so it's much more durable. And it lets all water pass right on through.The only negative is that it is a little rough to step on. You don't want to walk on it with bare feet. But it's great for getting dirt and snow off boots. I'm so happy with it.

I really like the quality of this mat, but I don’t understand why it’s listed as 18x30 when it’s 17x29. Why can’t the sellers just be honest?

Definitely catches all the sand/dirt! I have 2 of these outside my doors, a small-boot scraping one and the large doormat-style one. I also happen to have 3 LARGE German Shepherd dogs who have managed to turn what little grassy yard I had into a sand paradise for themselves. Plus I have hardwood floors throughout my house. So you can guess what THAT felt like walking in it after the dogs would come back inside. Enter this AWESOME Herringbone-tufted doormat-and BOOM. Literally NO. MORE. SAND. inside the house!! I LOVE this thing. I only wish I had thought to buy one 3 years ago!! Could have saved me a lot of sweeping and vacuuming my floors. It hurts a little to walk on barefoot, but then again, it’s MADE to scrape crap...uh...I mean DIRT off of your shoes!Bottoms line is: GET THIS ONE if you want dirt to STAY. OUTSIDE. where it belongs!

I like how rugged this mat is. I am using it at the front door that is open to the elements. I needed something that wouldn't soak up rainwater and that would handle lots of muddy feet. The construction looks to be very good.

Lays flat and is still there in front of my door after several weeks use. What more to be expected of a doormat?

The picture is so accurate. We are in a new build and the landscaping is not done yet. This mat is a great addition at the side door…I notice a big difference on the amount of sand and dirt coming in. YAHOO, less vacuuming. I will be ordering 2 more for the other entrances.
