They bang
Bought these as a replacement for my nephew after my dog ate his. From the sounds of it they work

They are exactly what they show.
Great for beginners, the have held up well and kiddo is loving haveing them in band

They work well. We were in band and enjoy them. Sturdy enough for all the kids to use also, including and mostly by toddlers.

You may want to get two pair
Work perfectly great for the first time in band school

Not strong enough for a 3 year old.
Definitely not meant for little kids, the wooden handle broke in half making a stake for slaying vampires not for a toddler to play xylophone.

They are solid on soft tips and don't play very soft
They are extremely hard even the soft tip.
