Workes a treat! First time trying no difficulties.
This little thing will save you a fortune, wiped the code for an exhaust O2 sensor. Connected first time no trouble on a random free app on the play store.Would recommend to anyone with or without mechanical knowledge. It will save you a small fortune!I worked in the motor trade so was very sceptical but was wrong. Incredible little device. I don't know how it isn't 5 stars!Worked on my 2000 year VW Beetle no problem at all. Does more than just engine codes too! Cannot express my happiness with this purchase. Does exactly what you would hope!Never been so impressed by a product from Amazon in my life, can tell you oil temp, speed, engine strain, acceleration g's and so much more hundreds of options when using a decent app. The app I used I bought a lifetime membership of to support the developer as it is an incredible piece of kit.

Software choice is critical for functionality.
Neat and well made little product with a built in torch to help find that elusive OBD port in your footwell.Initially, I thought it was rubbish. I used it on my 2017 Audi A6 and it wouldn't pick up any of the error codes, which I knew were there because of the dash lights. It turns out, though, that the choice of software you download for this is crucial - I tried several apps including Torque Lite and OBD Checker, and had the same problem with both - no error codes found. I then tried Car Scanner, which gave me options as to which engine and ECU systems to scan and it worked a treat. All errors found and fixed. Better guidance in this with the product would have been beneficial - no doubt many of the reviewers below who returned their dongle just needed to try different software.Only other point for improvement - activity LEDs on the dongle to indicate it's powered on and connected.

It's ok for the most basic diagnostics
Used previously on a Vauxhall Zafira 1.7 (2014) and now on a Volvo V40 D4 (2016)It's ok to read basic readings from the ECU with the engine running etc, clear codes also. But doesn't read DPF sensor information which is disappointing.

Excellent value for money. Comprehensive Analysis.
This is by far the best OBDII Scanner I've come across. Scans perfectly well. I paired this with the 'OBDocker App'. I generated a standard report for free and then went on yo generate a paid report as well.I would not recommend a product unless it works. Make sure that this is connected to the phone via Bluetooth and follow the instructions of the App of your choice to link it. This initial bit is the tricky part and the scanner will do the rest. The App i linked this two had really great features and I got a comprehensive report for £7.40 a month. The standard report was free during the trial period. It's really worth it if you want to go into detail. If you just want to see the OBD Codes the standard report is sufficient however the App requires payment. There may be other apps which does ut for free.

Not as desribed
This was advertised as suitable for the Vauxhall Astra and purchased specifically for that car. On loading the device and app, the Vauxhall marque did not appear in the list of compatible cars. Returned for refund.

Allowed me to go to my mechanic with specific fault information
This worked like a dream. Installed the software from Google Play (it works for both free and paid versions). The dongle is pretty straightforward plug and play. It gave a code for the error message and I looked it up on the web. Was able to talk to garage and tell them what was wrong with my car. The best bit was that I was able to discuss it reasonably with the mechanic who appreciated that he didn't need to convince me of what needed to be done - I had been able to research in advance what was involved and the available options. Everyone was happy. Mind you I was starting with the knowledge that my mechanic is a good guy who wasn't going to get bent out of shape by my efforts.
