Permanent 4-Cup Basket Shape Gold Tone Coffee Filter fits Mr. Coffee 4-Cup Coffeemakers

I have an old Mr Coffee model, the BL4. I purchased a reusable filter last November that did not include a handle for a total price of $6.49 (4.99 of that was shipping). But that filter was so small that it just rattles around inside the filter holder. This one is identical in size but at least it has a handle, and shipping was included in the $3.95 price. There were no prior reviews when I ordered it but felt I could afford 4 bucks to take a chance. This one is 3 1/2" outside diameter (O.D.) at the top and 2 7/8" O.D. at the bottom, and is 2" high. My original reusable is 3 7/8" top, 3 1/4 bottom, 2 1/4 high. So I put this one inside the old beat-up one and it works okay, but if your coffee is ground too fine the little one sometimes can't filter the coffee as fast as it comes out and the capacity is too small to hold it while it catches up, so it overflows. Thank goodness I have the old filter as a secondary backup, but it is yet another piece to wash.

Got this for my basket maker, so I'd have a spare in case my other one decided to die.The only down side is that the bottom of the basket is solid, and doesn't have the mesh like the sides do. But that doesn't seem to matter much, as it works very well as it is.I would buy from this seller again.

Just as advertised - works well and there were no broken or missing pieces. Be forewarned that when you order from this company, you will get an opened coffee filter basket with no packaging. That bothered me a little bit, so I washed it well before the first use. I've used this multiple times now and I have no complaints. This product reduces waste - great for the environment!

Works great! Coffee from a drip, using this filter, tastes closer to coffee from a French press. The metal filter doesn't strip the oils from the coffee, which gives the coffee a much better flavor.I found that using this filter coffee tends to come out much stronger than a paper filter (perhaps because of the sealed bottom?), so I've switched my grinder to a coarser grind and the flavor is better than I ever got with paper filters.

Seems top let a bit of the real finely ground particles of coffee through but that is not a big issue with me so I'm happy with the purchase and glad not to have to wrestle with those little paper units.

Yes, the description states this but I totally missed it. And I can't return it since is considered to be made of hazardous material. Odd but true. So I am stuck with it and will use but will have to spend more on coffee because of it. It really does weaken the coffee since the water can't drain straight through the grounds. Just don't say I didn't warn you when you order it!

This would be wonderful for a 4 cup machine - which I should have paid attention to - we need the 12 cup (standard size) Requesting a return or exchange from seller.

This works okay as a backup if you run out of paper filters. It made my coffee a lot more weak so I had to add more grounds to get it normal. I decided to just keep it as a back up. i wouldn't use this every day.
