A lovely book, cute illustrations and best of all Goldi says sorry for her breakages and tries to make amends. A different take on the Chinese New Year story too.

Excellent book for making comparisons between two stories

Excellent story

Think you know the tale of Goldilocks and the three bears? Think again! Both pictures and story bringing a Chinese twist to this popular fairytale. I did make a face at what Goldy Luck eats because it isn't quite as nice as porridge (not to me...). I enjoyed the reason why the pandas were out, looking at the action in the background (often through the window) and I thought how Goldy Luck became friends with them and made up for minor crimes sweet. I happily stared for more than a mere glance at the illustrations, they each tell their own tale and had me wondering what other areas of the pandas' lives were like. Terrible book words are missing from ends of sentences....😡

This book uses the Chinese New Year as the setting for an amended telling of the Goldilocks story. Brightly illustrated, and supported by an explanation of Chinese New Year customs and a recipe, this is a fun story with a positive moral. I would enjoy sharing it in our school both as an alternative fairy tale and as a storybook to accompany Chinese New Year awareness. Although American, I think this book can be successfully appreciated in an English school or family.I received an e-copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am thrilled to have added this to my classroom. The children loved this story and it for our theme so nicely.

Very cute book! I’m happy with my purchase. I’m a kindergarten teacher and I bought it for my classroom. I think that the kids will be very excited to see new books and toys when they come back to school after the lockdown.

LOVE this book, a fun twist on goldilocks and the three bears, except this book has a better ending and it's theme is around Chinese New Year. A well made book and great illustration, would highly recommend!

This multicultural book reimagines the story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” against the backdrop of Chinese New Year. Goldy Luck is a relatable protagonist - tired and trailed by bad luck - until an encounter with The Chans, her neighbors who happen to be panda bears. The book is educational about the themes and customs of the holiday. There is additional information at the end, which includes a recipe for the turnip cakes featured in the story. My toddler enjoys the book and often requests “Goldy.” As a parent, I appreciate the lessons on friendship and accountability as well as the use of interesting verbs to convey the actions of the characters.
