Had an extra outlet that I converted and made a dedicated phone charging area. Looks nice and works well. I wanted it in bone color it comes in white. You can careful paint it.

It was ideal for my purposes. It is mounted in this 3 gang box that used to have two 3 way switches for the upstairs Hall and the living room ceiling fan light and a third for the front porch light. I wanted smart switches. This is an old house so there was originally no neutrals. It had old knowand tube wiring from a downstairs source. I found that I could run 14-2 Romex to the upstairs, mount two smart life controlled wi fi switches upstairs put a smart switch in downstairs, using one of the former traveler wires as a new neutral, the second traveler as a hot and put this usb charging receptacle in place of one of the three ways, and a blank giving me box room for the wires in the center. Up to 4 spots here to charge smartphones, headphones. Bike lights and computers.

Exactly 2 years and it went bad. No longer charging anything

I have 4 security cameras that must be charged a couple times a year. They are located in places where a small solar panel (not inconspicuous) would not perform well. I decided to connect each camera to these USB cables and plug in the other end to a Bestten 4-port USB outlet in my garage. The cameras now have power all the time so I do not have to get a ladder and remove the cameras for charging. This is great. The Bestten receptacle is placed high on our garage wall but is easily seen with its tiny LED light so I now it has power.
