Salter food mixer
This is an excellent food mixer. It looks good in my kitchen and works very well. It does everything that my old Kenwood one did. I am so pleased with it.

Good as an amateur baker
I only really bake cakes with my kids or for birthday cakes so this doesn't come out all that often.Pros:- Mixes well (although I had to tighten the screw so the mixing attachment would sit more snug to the bowl)- Store away easily- Has 3 attachments for different types of baking- Colour way is lovely - live the dark with the champagne colour- Size wise is good enough for making a cake or buttercreamCons:- It is so loud when mixing (kind of expected)- Accidently cleaned the outside with a harsh sponge and it took some of the lovely champagne colour off- Power is generally good but it feels either too slow and then suddenly very fast on the settingsFor the price range, I think it does a really good job and it's really simple to use for someone baking as a hobbyist

Great product/great value
Great value - I'm not a frequent baker, so didn't need an all-singing item, this is perfect. Works really well, easy to clean and great price.

Very cheap option, don't expect too much
I bought this item two times, both times it broke down after a few months, so eventually I decided to go for a more expensive model from Kenwood. Luckily Amazon supported both times with a full refund.Unfortunately you get what you pay, and in this case it's not very much. The general feeling is of a very cheap machine, with not very reliable components, especially the motor. It gets very hot after a few minutes. It's probably good if you're aiming at simple jobs, like cupcakes and easy mixes, but if you like homebaked bread and pizza I do not recommend this product.

Mmmm, I dunno
It would be great if Salter would include an instruction booklet in the box. I had spend about an hour searching the Salter site, but I did evenrually download a PDF. It is not the best tool for smaller amounts. I made a batch of biscuits 185g butter and 185g caster sugar and all the butter and sugar was pushed to the sides of the bowl by the beater, and the beater just went round n round, by itself doing nothing! It did not matter how many times I scraped the sides and bottom, it just kept doing it. It took me so long to cream the butter and sugar so it was white n fluffy, I could have done it with a wooden spoon a couple of times over. Also it is loud, louder than my vacuum cleaner - even the cat ran out of the kitchen it was so noisy! It looks very beautiful on the counter but overall disappointed. I hope this info helps
