Q: what will this part fix

fuel leaking from vent line. If vent line is stopped up your engine can't get any gas due to vacuum on the gas tank.

Q: Will it work on the old 044

hose is approx. 1/8" I.D. 18" long cut to fit tight fit on vent fitting. Had 044 35 years ago do not recall vent size

Q: Are the vent included?

Yes, the vent valve is the small white piece at the end of the tubing. The tubes supplied are far longer than necessary, but can easily be cut down to the appropriate length. Two tank vents are included. I used one of these to replace the tank vent on my Stihl 029 super on which the vent tube had cracked and was leaking. Leak is fixed and saw runs fine.
