Did a great job
I received the ZealSea Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm as part of a promotion. Here is what I think:1. The packaging is really nice and makes me think of Clinique.2. The little spatula was convenient because I had to scoop this out.3. I put this in my hand and added some water and mixed it around in my hand before applying to my face.4. I have this one tube of mascara that is my go to brand. It is an absolute pain to get off with regular makeup remover. I have to say this did a better job than my normal makeup remover. I normally have to go over and over and over again with my regular remover. Not so with this one.5. It did leave a tiny little bit of creamy feeling on my eyes, so I ended up using a facial cleansing cloth after this.6. It does have a bit of smell which I usually don’t like in a product that goes on my face. If that is something that the manufacturer has added, I would vote for them to leave it out if they can.7. There is quite a bit of product in the container. Since I mainly use this to take off my pain in the butt mascara, I think this is going to last me quite a while.I have been wanting to try a cleansing balm for quite some time now and was very pleased with this one. Since I have not used one before, I cannot compare it to any other product, but I think this one did a great job. It worked much better on my mascara than my normal remover.

OK for the Price
Works well, but I did not like the greasiness of this balm nor the smell. I gave it to my daughter and returned to the other brand I prefer.

Oily cleanser
I enjoy this cleanser and have been using it nightly to wash off my makeup. It is great for getting off foundation but struggles with eye makeup especially black eye liner and mascara. there is not much of a scent which I appreciate. I scoop out a small amount with the provided spatula, melt it a little in the warmth of my hands and apply it to my face slowly incorporating water until I can worth up a lather, and then fully rinse with water. I will say this is more of an oil cleansing product than a deep cleaner. I have acne prone skin and have had acne pop up if I don't use a more drying cleanser afterwards. As I typically double cleanse I don't mind this extra step, but I wish I could use it on its own as a cleanser.

Not Good
I read all of the reviews with the understanding that everyone would have different opinions. I do not wear much make-up. It is minimal. Literally the basics. I do not touch it up and I am ready for it to be removed ASAP. I like to have a clean face so I can immediately start applying items to help with my wrinkles and dark circles for the evening. So I wanted to read the instructions (admittedly I do not always make this a habit). I read them carefully, followed them. After I was willing to understand there may be leftover mascara as it can be messy but no harm no foul. I would clean that up with a cotton pad. However, I wanted to see if there was left over make up on my face after I rinsed. Mind you I rinsed several times to ensure I got all of the product. I had my hair pinned back, towel to catch any excess water. This product did NOTHING to clean my face. Was it soft yes, did it emulsify with water, yes, was it easy to apply, yes. Again, my face was NOT clean. That was the purpose of my purchase!! That's a big NO! I would NOT recommend.

Great cleansing balm
In truth, I am a bit of a skincare snob. I am picky when it comes to ingredients and products as a whole. However, when I like something, I latch onto it like a pacifier for a baby. This was one of those products. This is great for removing makeup and water resistant sunscreen. It gets oily on the skin and has a beautiful glide. It isn't oily in the sense that it feels stuffy and like it wants to invade your pores but has a nice consistency when cleansing the face. It emulsifies into that white concoction you find in other cleansing oils/balms and it functions super well. I have tried a product before that was sold as a cleansing balm but felt and worked more like a light cream. It never emulsified and just sort of sat there. This, I instantly saw it when I started to mix in a little water. The scent was super nice. I typically don't like added fragrances but this one was not super, unbearably strongAlso, it wasn't an issue for my skin as it was washed clean off. It did not smell cheap or childish if that makes sense. It have a mature scent that makes the sensorial experience that much better.I was genuinely surprised at the quality of this item. Everything from the presentation to the scent to its cleansing ability was spot on. This is a bit pricier that others but i feel like it's worth paying a bit extra for such an opulent cleansing balm.

Better for dry vs oily skin
I really wanted to like this but it sadly leaves a residue behind on my skin. No matter how much I tried to emulsify it, it just left a waxy/oily feeling that I couldn't get over. Following up with a foaming cleanser afterwards does remove that residue layer, so I might not bother everyone. It works like most other cleansing balms and has a more whipped cream sherbet-like texture compared to my go-to elf balm. It does work as intended and breaks down my sunscreen and makeup, even waterproof makeup with ease. I do get eye stinging and cloudiness if it gets in my eyes, it just requires rinsing really well for it to go away. The packaging is cute and I love the spatula shape as I've never seen one quite like this. It is fragranced and doesn't smell bad but synthetic. Overall, I think this might be better for dry skin that would either not notice or benefit from that oil feeling, but not for oily skin.
