Mostly good as long as you keep your expectations reasonable.
I saw several complaints about the sound quality, and "You'll need a soundbar or some kind of external speaker(s)", but that wasn't the case at all. The sound quality on this TV actually isn't bad at all. That was the only thing holding me back from purchasing it, so I didn't have very high hopes going in. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Not that it sounds right up there with the best or anything like that, because it doesn't and it isn't, but the average user shouldn't have any problem with the sound quality straight out of the box. The picture quality is equally as surprising. It's a 1080p TV, so don't expect mind blowing clarity, but for what it is and what it costs, it's really nice, and with all kinds of settings that I've never heard of. I actually did very little in the way of setting this thing up. I remember reading somewhere just a few days ago that Vizio TVs are factory preset to the taste of individual countries that they ship them to, and after reading that, it made sense to me why there was very little adjustment necessary. LOL I think I spent more time getting it out of the box than I did making adjustments. Setup was a breeze. It found my Wi-Fi immediately, I put my password in to get it connected, and inside of a few seconds, it was ready to go... or so I thought Naturally, the first thing it wanted to do was install a bunch of updates. Doesn't everything anymore? After downloading, installing, restarting, installing, restarting, installing, restarting, I was finally ready to do a channel scan. Yeah, I got cable TV out of my life over 20 years ago, and I haven't missed it one bit. The scan took three to four minutes and brought up like 48 channels. I'm still working on this input called Watch Free, and as near as I can tell, it's kind of a mix with your station presets and other select material probably based on those stations. In the 3+ weeks since delivery, I haven't experienced one flaw, lockup, random restart, random power down, glitch or hiccup out of it.There are a few little things about it that I'm not too thrilled about, namely the complete lack of RCA inputs, only two HDMI inputs, and when inputting channels on OTA TV using the number pad, it brings up an on-screen numberpad, but instead of intuitively hitting the center button, you have to use the arrow down to navigate to an area at the bottom of the on-screen keypad, and when you get to the correct tab, THEN hit the center button. Next, arguably the most used controls on the remote, the channel and volume keys... Why do they all now place those keys so low on the remote? Those keys are way down near the bottom to the point that you don't really have any room to hold onto the remote. The remote is also narrow, thin, short, and VERY slippery. Overall, I guess it's ok, but a universal remote is probably in my near future. As the title says, keep your expectations reasonable, and you shouldn't be disappointed. If you want a TV that performs like a $1000+ set, then go spend $1000 on a set, and you'll be just fine. As far as its current price tag of $138 is concerned, you're getting a LOT of TV for your money.EDIT:At almost two months in, I've been able to integrate it into my entertainment needs without much of any learning curve, and I'm still happy with my purchase.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So impressed – perfect for my kid’s room!
I bought this VIZIO 40‑inch Full HD Smart TV for my daughter’s room, and it’s been a fantastic addition! As an average mom of three juggling school projects, sports practices, and bedtime routines, I wanted something reliable, easy to use, and kid‑friendly—and this TV hits the mark.1. Picture & Performance: The 1080p display is sharp and bright—perfect for cartoons, movies, and even her occasional dance tutorials. The colors are vibrant and the motion is smooth, so everything looks great from any angle.2. Smart Features: Setup was a breeze. We connected our Wi‑Fi in under five minutes, and she now effortlessly streams her favorite shows from Disney+ and Netflix. The interface is simple enough even for her to navigate solo.3. Kid‑Proof & Mom‑Approved: The TV fits perfectly on the dresser and isn’t huge—but it’s big enough for comfortable viewing. It feels sturdy, and I love that I can set parental controls to manage what she watches and when.4. Family Friendly Value: For the price, you really can’t beat it. As a mom watching every penny, I appreciate that this TV delivers big‑screen entertainment without the high cost. Plus VIZIO’s support has been helpful when I had a quick question during setup. In short—this VIZIO TV has been a stress‑free, quality choice for our home. Easy to set up, perfect for streaming, and durable for little hands. If you’re a busy parent looking for a great value TV that works for your kids (and doesn’t break the bank), this one’s a winner!

Registration difficult,.but TV good.
The worst thing about this TV is the registration and you cannot use it until it is done. Plus it is very difficult, I will tell you the only way it worked for me. Forget the app, register on the web, then after you select a password you have to pretend you forgot it then get the second password and then it works. Skip when it wants your credit card, never accepts it anyway. Now for the TV, sound is good once you lower the bass and increase treble. Connects to WiFi ok. Good TV for a bedroom or Dining Area.Update #1 Everything about setting this tv up is a bear. I could not get cable to be recognized, works on my old tv direct without a cable box. I came to the realization that this tv only picks up broadcast tv channels. Also will not pick up analog channels from cable. I went through all the settings. I had to buy a iview cable box. Everything else is good, so I only took off 1 star.

Easiest install I ever did
Set up was simple, especially since we already had a vizio TV on our network, so when logging into apps for the first time such as Amazon and Netflix a QR code was displayed on the screen and when we took a picture, it took us to a screen on our phone to enter a code which was displayed on the TV screen, I assume it got the login details from our other TV as we did not have to enter our email address and password. Disney + required us to enter our email address and password, but still super easy. One thing to take into account when setting up the TV, at one point in the setup it played a video about the TV and it's features and the sound quality was mushy and muffled. It is not the TV or the TV's speakers, it is the sound on the video that is mushy and muffled. Once we had the TV all connected, brought up an Amazon Prime show and the audio was clear as a bell. Also if you install the Vizio App, you can control your TV from your phone.Would definitely recommend.
