Best Electric Kettle
If I could give this kettle/hot pot 10 stars. I would! I use this multiple times daily for hot water, tea, soup, hot chocolate, ramen, and more. Its size, quick heating, easy cleanup, and comfortable handle make this versatile kettle my “go to.” It heats to boiling so quickly that I learned to not put it on the actual boiling setting. I only set it at midpoint and have boiling water or contents in just 1-2 minutes! It’s faster than a microwave and uses less energy, more versatile than a Keurig, and definitely beats using a stove-top kettle. I wish the cord was retractable or wound around the base, but it’s short and easy to manage so not a big deal. I highly recommend this for home use and it would be perfect to use at the office or in an RV!

This heats up extremely quickly and holds the temperature well.
I bought this for a specific use to melt butter for a yearly corn roast I do for our church congregation. Instead of bringing a propane stove and pot and melt butter in that I wanted something a little easier to deal with. This pot being that it pours really fit the bill. We used this and it worked extremely well at the lowest setting it's still would boil the water in the butter but just barely. It was able to keep the butter hot to be ready when we needed it for the corn. We poured it directly into butter cans then people use brushes in the can to apply the butter. This made our job much easier than carrying all of that extra equipment to the park where we have the roast. I could see how this would work well for just heating up water for tea and keeping the water at the temperature that you want it to be at. It looks nice It was not that expensive and it really worked well for what we used it for.

Great hot pot
This is a great little hot pot. Heats up super quick, we like using it to make ramen noodles. The only flaw is the lid. It completely detaches to open it gets so hot and fits so tight you can’t safely open it. I leave the lid askew when cooking so I can easily take it off. It needs to be on a hinge. Otherwise great value for the $$!

Non adjuatable thermostat. No off button. Irremovable cable
The kettle is nice that the top is wider than the base, so what is being cooked is not hampered by a small opening. The lid is about 6" diameter, including spout and handle it's diameter is about 9.5". This makes it wider than a normal kettle, so I find no advantage here for travel. The kettle heats quite rapidly, also using it to cook food in a container has not melted said container (noodles in a ziplock bag), which is good.Although the heat dial shows to have multiple steps between Warm and Boil, the thermostat only changes once; from boil to warm. The cable is part of the kettle so can not be removed, unlike most kettles on the market. Also there is no off button/position so the only way to turn it off is to unplug it.The lid is VERY stiff. This means that if you are not very careful hot water can spill onto you.I am unsure if there is an auto off feature if the kettle dries out, but (due to all that is missing already) I sincerely doubt if it has one.I thought this would be a better kettle due to having the Protor Silex name attached and think that a better kettle with more functionality can be purchased for the same price.I hope that this is helpful

GREAT! But TAKE CARE AROUND IT!
I was soooooo sad when my longtime perfect Rival kettle died. And then total lookalike I bought pretty much leaked everywhere....immediately. AND THIS ONE IS GREAT. STURDY. HOTHOTHOT!!!! Speaking of which...be careful near it. I had been used to electric kettles where the only place steam was escaping was from the spout and was used to not reaching over THAT SPECIFIC AREA. But his has ADDITIONAL SLITS TO RELEASE STEAM on the OPPOSITE SIDE, near the handle. So, at least for me, trying to reach beyond it to unplug it or just...anything...without burning my lower arms or my hands is an excercise in awareness! But I've had it for months and it is great. (but also...quickly applying an ice cube rather than butter to a burn is a good idea. Juuuuuust in case.
