Great stuff.
This is a fantastic percussion instrument. Yes, at the end of the day it's just a wooden box with a snare inside it. Ah, but it's a very well made wooden box that produces n amazing range of percussion sounds. Get one I say.

Great Sound in a small package
This is a great little box drum. The two striking surfaces, one with a snare, make it easy to generate a variety of sounds.I was also impressed with the speed of the delivery. It shipped from Germany and came in just a few days instead of the long window of the estimated delivery.

Excellent quality and great sound projection
I was able to try this before I bought it, and I was seriously impressed by the sound quality and projection this little cajon can produce. I had looked around online, researching decent small cajons suitable for travel. I boiled my decisions down to either this Schlagwerk Cajonito or the Meinl Palito. As much as I like Meinl, I have not always been impressed with their drums, and of Schlagwerk I have always heard great things. The build of the Cajonito is sturdy and overall excellent - it doesn't feel cheap at all and the wood on all sides are finished nicely. Inspection of the snare wires inside revealed that they are placed very well, and the sound of the snare side is phenomenal considering the size. No annoying buzzy tones from it, just a beautiful distinguished snappy snare. I was initially dubious about having snare wires as I'm used to my full size stringed J. Leiva cajon (and the Meinl Mini cajon snare wires by comparison are awful), but Schlagwerk definitely know what they're doing.I also absolutely adore the other side of the drum, the plain side. With my full size stringed J. Leiva cajon it is difficult to get a completely traditional sound no matter how much I tighten the strings, so it is lovely to have this cajon that can deliver both sounds. So far I've enjoyed using the plain side more than the snare, but if i ever want to mix things up when I'm playing, it is always super easy. It just takes one second to flip it over, and one can carry on drumming. Oh and the hole is great for playing around with for that 'wah-wah' effect. I'm not a dap hand at that kind of thing, but it is fun and a great feature of such a versatile drum.Like I said at the start, this drum has great volume for its size, but I've also found it useful for late night 'quiet' practicing. There is a dampening pad inside that can be used, which I thought was quite a thoughtful addition. I tend to use the Cajonito as a substitute darbuka late at night because I can dampen the volume very effectively, and its small size and shape means I can sit with it positioned like a darbuka. This is a huge plus for me personally as I continue to practice my rolls and split-finger technique daily. All in all, very impressed and extremely happy with the purchase. Unfortunately i wasn't able to try the Meinl Palito so i could not offer any comparisons, but this one just blew me away when I tried it. It offers so many features in such a small package, and it is beautifully built. Of course it will never rival the sound of a full size cajon, but if you want great sound for portability and travel purposes, this is perfect.

Bang on!
I was guided by other reviews and ended up with a good choice. This is excellent quality, with a wide variety of sounds at your fingertips, 2 playing surfaces, decent size. No negatives whatsoever, I can wholly recommend this cajonito.
