I really wanted to like this. But I don't
I had high hopes for this rack. The idea seemed clever and the pictures gave me hope. Unfortunately, I just don't see it working in day-to-day life.Up close it does look just like the pictures. Unfortunately, it still "looks cheap". The pictures aren't deceptive, they just don't really convey the feel of the product. The rotating idea seemed good but then you realize you can't really use the rotating feature while things are hung on it. It binds if even just a little off kilter. This combined with the fact that there is no mounting template make it an exercise in frustration to use.In hindsight, it *might* make a good belt rack in an out of the way area. But for a main hallway coat hanger, you should probably stick with a more traditional design.

Space Saving, Practical Coat Rack
The wall mount design of the Headbourne 8005E Vertical Rotating Hat & Coat Rack let us install it closer to the door where it's handier and more out of the way. It's very secure mounted to a wall stud. The old coat tree was prone to tipping if care wasn't taken to evenly distribute weight. There's not much value on this wall mounted rack's ability to rotate. It's so close to the wall that there's not enough space for it to turn without crushing or knocking off whatever's hanging from the pegs. There's not much to say about its looks since, once coats are hanging, the rack pretty much disappears from sight from the top peg down. Therefore, I don't care that its screws don't match. From a simply utilitarian perspective, all in all, I'm pretty happy with this Headbourne Vertical Coat Rack. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for more placement options, or to save floor place, or to get rid of that darn tipping prone coat tree.

It's just meh
I was excited to get this hat/coat rack because with the cooler weather our existing coat rack is overflowing. However, after I received it and got ready to install it, I quickly became frustrated with it. The installation directions are terrible, but you can figure it out just by looking at the product.. I wish they would have included a template for the hole drilling, because you need to measure very carefully in order to get the two baseplates for it to attach to spaced correctly. I also wish it was black all over, instead of having the chrome elbow bends. I've also found it doesn't hold our hats and coats all that well, with some of them quite easily slipping off the smooth finish.

Only good for hanging baseball caps and hats
I originally found this rack design interesting, and it is. But not for jackets or coats, it’s only good enough to hang baseball caps and winter hats. The space between the brackets is limited, and somehow I didn’t realize it until it was set on the wall in front of my face. I’m glad that I placed it on a location that is useful to hang our headgear when coming and going. For that use, I would say it’s okay.

Waste of money for the purpose
Bought for use of a hat rack. the pictures make it seem to appear that it mounts farther away from the wall. It mounts so close to the wall, you can not spin it with one item on there. Not only that, but the angle of the "hooks/pegs" is a little extreme, and does not exactly reflect the picture. Waste of money for the purpose, could have bought something cheaper to serve the same stationary purpose.

Handsome and Functional Vertical Coat and Hat Rack
I am quite happy with my vertical rotating hat and coat rack. Installation was simple, although the included instructions show only assembly of the hardware; to mount the unit, I measured just under thirty-two inches for the screw holes. The posts are smoothly rounded, and I like how the black finish of the main segment looks against the chrome finish of the mounting brackets. It looks great, and is a functional addition to the entryway.

Ugly and impractical
This does what it's supposed to do, but there are several small disappointments keeping it from being anything more than just barely adequate.First, it's pretty small -- just 19 1/2" between the top peg and the bottom peg. That means that those 8 pegs are about 2 3/4" apart, and even though they're offset, coats, scarves, and anything else you'd hang on this are too bulky to make use of every peg. And here in MN, where we have rain and snow (the kinds of weather that makes you want to wear a coat), overlapping your coats like that makes it hard for them to dry.Second, it's ugly. It's got bright, shiny chrome brackets and screws, and the main body and pegs are a glossy black. It looks really industrial, which I can't imagine looking good in anyone's home. We were planning to put it in the basement by the garage, but it's so severe that it's out of place no matter where it goes.Third, kind of piggy-backing on that ugliness issue, the assembly isn't as seamless-looking as you'd expect for something like this. Normally, the brackets slip over the bar to hide the way they fit together, but with this, the brackets reduce in size to fit into the bar, and if don't place the mounting buttons perfectly it'll be obvious exactly how far off they were.
