Better than my high price eye loupe that I have used for years. I bought a couple of these for at home and some for at work.I love the lights. The UV is great for reviewing conformal coating on PCBAs.This is made from heavy duty materials and is the ideal size.Clean and clear images.The batteries run out faster than you would think and are a little annoying to change, but it is a reasonable cost.I cannot go back to not having the ring light.Best thing I have ever bought.

Great glass lens. Clear heavy duty and well made. Solid aluminium body and SS lens cover. Switch isn't hard to use, and cover doesn't interfere with it. Batteries fully charged when I received it. Rugged snapping leather case. You'll need the light even at 10X magnification unless you're in full daylight. If you're on the fence just buy one. Great value. I've used it a half dozen times this week already. You'll find all kinds of uses for it. This is a portable lens. Note the size. If you're inspecting photo negatives or artwork etc. buy something with a built-in round base seen elsewhere.Update 12/2024Buy a 20 pack of batteries on Amazon, it does eat batteries quickly.My guess is you get ~10-30 minutes? of light per set of 3. Very rough guess though.Haven't tried the cheap 20 pack batteries yet, I expect they will be consumed even fasteras they came out of the package at less than the 1.50Vdc.They should have measured about 1.59-1.63Vdc if they were new Duracells, etc.if they were quality batteries.

This product is multi functional and does the job and includes a nice carry case. Only issue is that the battery does not look as though it can be replaced as it is covered with wires.

Very well made. Gold rings are easy to read the weight and you can see bad places that need to be fixed. It comes in a little leather case with a slot for the battery key. It has batteries for the LED lights.

The media could not be loaded. It comes with a built in UV and LED light. The batteries are pre-installed so it is easy to use. Just slide to the off and on positions. Just make sure it's all the way off before putting it in the case. I will go on a limb and say some people think the batteries doesn't last because when they closed it, it stayed on until next use. So again, if it's not off directly in the center, it is easy to accidentally move to one of the two on positions (UV or LED). The lights are powerful so that should not be a worry. Try using a white background. The size is a 10X triplet and it will be good for most quick visual processes. I ordered a triplet loupe from the GIA and they sent it to the wrong person so while waiting for a replacement I ordered this one. I have no regrets. This is Loupe is able to accurately do everything I need for. The price and quality is right.Update: Received my more expensive Loupe and this Express loupe is way more comfortable to use. The size is a major plus. Lights still work.

The LED light is a plus…

I did not read the prior reviews before purchasing. But I still would have purchased because overall it is a great loupe. The optical clarity is excellent, as well as the price. The optics are larger than my GemOro Lite Loupe. Though the buttons and overall workmanship is not as good. As others mentioned, and expected, the batteries died within less than 2 months of usage. So I ordered 3 premium Duracell 395/399 replacement batteries. Prior to ordering the batteries I took it apart to see the battery numbers. I very carefully noted the order and placement of the batteries, plastic disc and clamped wire. The order from bottom to top is: 3 batteries with the + side up, then the plastic disc, then the clamped wire on top. Carefully screw the cover back on with the switch in the LED position. It is extremely sensitive and the cover does not screw down tight. It keeps turning if pushed. I was really nervous because the first time I tried it I wasn't getting any light. Then I read the reviews and it worked. I needed to screw it around a little further for the light to stay on. Appears to be working now, but it is rather delicate. Another person mentioned using tape, but I do not want to get it sticky. I would recommend this product. Just wish they would tweak it a little. Good luck!
