These things work great. The fact that individual units are wrapped in a dissolvable covering means you don't get your fingers blue when you drop them in the tank. They seem to last for a couple of weeks or more, depending on how often you flush, and the temperature of the water in the tank. If you're running straight cold water in the tank, they will last longer. The per-unit cost is quite low in comparison to similar products on the market, yeah it seems to work just as well. They have a nice fragrance and keep my toilet bowl clean below the water level.

Three stars because it rarely turned the water blue, sometimes it looked dark purple, sometimes it was too faint, and sometimes it sent chunks of blue which caused blue streaks along the side of the bowl. Note, this problem may be caused by my specific toilet - American Standard Champion 4 - which retains 4-5 inches of water at the bottom of the tank as a result of the strange flush valve they use. Results may be better with any traditional flush valve system.
