This retractable water hose is absolutely worth the money! You do need a sturdy foundation or mounting surface to place it on, but once it’s set up, it works like a dream. It’s durable, easy to use, and makes watering so much more convenient. Definitely a great investment for anyone tired of dragging hoses. Highly recommend!

I am revising my review to 5 stars as a result of the response and great support I received from Grace at Giraffe. She was genuinely concerned about my experience and the product quality. Products occasionally have minor flaws and when Grace took control of my order, she was great. I am now a very happy and satisfied customer. I will not hesitate to buy Giraffe products specifically because of their support and service.I bought this item on June 27, 2025 very excited to have an automatic retractable hose. I mounted it immediately and have used it every day until August 5 (9 DAYS AFTER THE 30 DAY WARRANTY) when the hose itself blew up like an anaconda that just ate 5 rats. 5 big bulges in the hose, and then it split and leaked uncontrollably. I filed a product quality issue with Giraffe, but they haven't even responded.BUYERS BE WARE!

I purchased this hose reel to replace a previous hose reel purchased on Amazon. I purchased two hose reels on Amazon three years ago. One of the hose reels started leaking and eventually became unusable. Amazon did not carry that brand anymore. The company was not responding to calls or emails for repair parts. I was very apprehensive about purchasing another hose reel that was a lot more expensive than the previous one from Amazon. I did my due diligence by reading all of the reviews and researching anything I could find about the company Giraffe. I did purchase the hose reel. It was very easy to install. There were a couple of very minor things that prevented me from giving a five-star rating. First, the carrying handle is offset from the center. It works fine when you carry the hose reel anywhere. It is very awkward to use when installing the hose reel. Second, the hose ends do not have any grips on them. You almost need to use a wrench to tighten them to the water spigot and the hose reel. Third, the nozzle end of the hose does not have a snag-free cup on it. The nozzle will get caught on stuff as it rewinds. And fourth, the nozzle that comes with the hose reel is okay. I have my nozzles so this is not a big deal. I will amend this review in a year or so after I get some use out of the hose reel to compare it to the cheaper ones I purchased from Amazon earlier. I did notice that most of the inner parts of the hose reel were identical to my older reels that failed. This leads me to believe the hose reel manufacturers may have common parts suppliers.03/06/2025 Update: I purchased two of these hose reels. One of the hose reels failed in the same manner as the hose reel that this one replaced. I changed to this brand because of terrible customer service of the previous brand. The Giraffe customer service was excellent to work with. I wrote customer service asking how to repair my hose reel. Within 24 hours, they requested a video of the failure and proof of purchase. I provided the requested information. The very next day, I received a notice that a new hose reel was being sent under warranty. Great company to work with. I will be a customer for as long as I use hose reels. #Giraffe

After buying one of these hose reels and liking it, I bought another a year later. When I bought my first one, the reviews were higher. When buying the second one, I noticed they had trended downwards a bit. Well, it has been just over 3 years of light use on my newer purchase and when I went to use it, water was pouring out of the bottom. Knowing it was out of warranty, I took it apart to see what was broken. Boy, is this thing designed to be disposable. The hose attaches to the reel with a plastic elbow (which had cracked). That elbow is secured to another plastic sleeve for the water inlet with a plastic c-clip. No standard, off-the-shelf parts here. And of course, not available from Giraffe Tools, either. Additionally, the hose is attached to the elbow using a compression fitting so you'd have to buy the entire hose for a failed plastic elbow. Using all plastic parts for the critical components does not make for a durable product. That, in and of itself, isn't a big deal if the product were designs it to be serviceable and replacement parts are available. That's not the case here. I contemplated ways to fix it until I noticed Costco sells an automatic reel which ADVERTISES it has a user-replaceable hose. It was longer and cheaper and is backed by a Costco lifetime warranty...I decided to cut my losses as it seems most hose reels on Amazon are a crap-shoot at least that's the picture I get from reading the reviews.TL;DR, It worked great...until it didn't. Important parts are all plastic. These parts are not standard items that can be purchased at a hardware store and are also not available from the company. For the price they're charging, I would look elsewhere.

Quality product that's easy to install on either a masonry wall or wood (wall or post).Everything is included.If you do have a problem the unit is warranted for TWO YEARS and their customer service is second to none.Good product from a GREAT company.
