I bought this as a arts and crafts project for me and my mom to do it was the most fun we have had in awhile! The instructions were so easy to follow, the scents smelled amazing, and the starter kit came with everything that you needed to make the 4 candle tins it came with. I will say if you buy this kit make sure you run to to a craft store and buy more scents and more candle safe jars so the fun can last longer! Each one of the candles pretty much take the whole bottle of scent that this package comes with. So the four candle tins are all you can make with the oil supplies. All and all we had a blast I really recommended purchasing this especially if you are looking for some fun quality time with a loved one!

Bought this for a rainy day activity for tweens. They loved it and needed minimal supervision.They played around with it a lot, so it was fairly easy to understand and get into as an activity.Months later and the candles still smell great. The girls had some feedback on what they liked best or would want different, but I think I can just buy additional product to this kit next time for what they want.Seems a good value, and I can recommend it. Now I would look for refills rather than buying a whole new kit.

This kit has me a little baffled. It comes with four 8 oz containers to make candles and enough wax to fill them 24 times. It just kind of doesn't make sense.The box is large and heavy when it comes. The box itself came completely unharmed but when I unboxed it, two of the fragrance oil containers appeared to have leaked- with discoloration in their respective bags. The oils had all different levels of oil in them as you can see in my picture.Instructions were very easy to follow to make the candles and there is certainly enough coloring agent to make a very nice variety of colors.Bizarrely the instructions to make 8 oz candles include melting 8 oz of wax and adding a full 2 oz bottle of fragrance oil to the candle base so you wind up with 2 oz extra candle wax that's been heavily fragranced. I would hold back on the oil on future candles. Honestly, the fragrance oils were kind of sickly and Grandma smelling. I will definitely be purchasing oils far more to my liking, but fragrance is always a very personal matter. Perhaps they will suit you fine.Clean up was a breeze and overall it makes for a very fun project. It's nice to have another thermometer around. The one with the kit is a full-on candy thermometer.**** Update - having now burned several of the candles made from this kit I can say that the wax burns pretty evenly and they are not kidding when they say wait 24-48 hours from when you finish to when you burn a candle. The first one I tried the next day and it burrowed a hole right down the middle of the candle over the course of a couple of hours. It didn't work well at all.I'm still mystified at the horrible scents included. The ones I bought separately made for some nice-smelling candles. The wicks burn hot and tend to get long, so get ready to keep trimming them throughout the life of your candle.

I love this kit. Normally kits are as cheap as they can make them. This had everything I needed plus some. Not all the fragrances were my favorite- but that’s just me- might be perfect for someone else. I would recommend this to any beginner.

I wish it came with essential oils to add for scents however, we loved making candles, it is so easy and we were given a variety of flowers to choose from, making them beautiful.

I am as novice as they come with candle making.Instructions were easy to follow, and you were given everything you need to begin to learn candle making.I made a few with the twins and they had such fun learning candle making with me.We have bought more wax and more wicks and are excited to keep making candles.

Like the set up could use more colors but more then enough stuff to work with

First time making candles and this did have everything needed but...The quantity of soy, coloring, and wicks was great, but there's only enough scent to make a couple small candles, and the scents are not very good... more like soap with very faint notes of the labeled scent. The color blocks don't dissolve entirely so for my second batch I cut them up into tiny pieces.The freaking melting pot is too small and the thermometer is too long to even clip on the inside.But the instructions were easy and the candles were a success and I even got some wood wicks and candle burns great.All in all, an ok but with minor changes it would be excellent!
