Superb Hooks
I gifted the Susan Bates In-Line Crochet Hooks to a loved one, and they were thrilled with how comfortable the handle feels during long crochet sessions. The smooth metal tip glides effortlessly through yarn, making each stitch a breeze. It's a fantastic tool for seniors or anyone with hand or wrist mobility issues, offering both ease and enjoyment.

Collection of crochet hooks
Nice crochet hooks. Fits well in my hand and yarn flows quite well across the hook. Finding crochet hooks in a retail store is very limited if at all, so being able to get from Amazon was a great opportunity.

Great hook
Excellent hook for a value price! Doesn’t split the yarn, longer shaft, and smoothly machined. I have to say I like it as much as the tulip or clover hooks.

My Favorite Hooks
These are my favorite crochet hooks! Not only do they hold in the hand well, but the shape of the hook helps prevent snagging, which helps with increasing your speed.

Susan Bates is my go-to brand
I’ve been crocheting for over 60 years and have used many brands and types of hooks. I prefer the deeper throat and in-line hook of the Susan Bates hook to the curved throat and rounded hook of others. The deeper notch in the throat helps my yarn stay on the hook. Also the Susan Bates hook is straight rather than tapered where the throat joins the handle. This helps keep my stitches even. This is the first set I have owned with a cushioned grip. It does make a difference with my arthritis. My collection of hooks includes hand-made wooden and bone handmade hooks predating the Civil War, but the Susan Bates hooks are still the easiest for me to use with yarn. (For thread, nothing beats my great-great grandmothers silver plated set.)

Great hooks, wrong size
I have been wanting to try these hooks for a long time. So far I am very satisfied with them. They are comfortable to hold, and glide through the yarn nicely with very little splitting. The boye hooks that I started out with would constantly split my yarn and the slim handle was hard to grip. The only issue I have is that I am missing the G hook. Somehow a 4.5 mm hook was placed in the package instead of the 4 mm. I plan to keep the hooks anyway and just order a 4 mm separately.

Good Stuff!
These Susan Bates crochet hooks have become my favorites. The handle is comfortable to hold for when I'm stitching for long periods. The tip of the hook is somewhat pointed and a bit narrower than other hooks which makes it easier to insert in between stitches and pull yarn overs. And since I've switched to these hooks, yarn splitting has been eliminated. Pictured is the waistband of a sweater I started.Like my sewing machine and other crafting tools & equipment, these crochet hooks are an investment in quality.
