KitchenCraft meat thermometer
Works very well and appears to be accurate. It could possibly have a physically weak point where the stem meets the back of the dial but other than that, no complaints. Easy to read.

Cook meat, work out temperature
Tells you the temperature if you stick it in something. Recommend using cooked meats for this, some people lack the sense of humour if used for comical purposes.....

Terrible Product
The positive reviews you read are most likely from people who have just received it and haven't ran into issues.Bought one a couple years back and it stopped working after the needle jammed slightly so assumed it was my fault and bought another.Second one started out fine but after overcooking a lot of meat I decided to test it in boiling water where it read 80 degrees.Third one just ordered and it arrived with a bent spike and so the needle doesn't move freely. Tried to send it back for a replacement and it's exempt from Amazon's return policy and they make you contact the manufacturer who consequently make it more than the products worth to get a replacement.It's cheap, so I'll write it off but buy a better quality product if you have the chance.

Cannot use inside the oven
I never found out how good this thermometer is, because the instructions state that it is not possible to leave it in the meat when roasting in the oven. You have to remove the meat from the oven first before checking the temperature with this thermometer. This is the only analogue meat thermometer which I cannot use in the oven. So I just continued to use my old crusted-over thermometer and ordered another proper meat thermometer.So please be aware of this. Otherwise, like most Kitchencraft wares, it looks very good.
